Beau-Rivage is proud to announce its Green Globe international certification, a recognition that highlights its commitment to sustainable development and responsible practices within the hospitality industry. Green Globe is a renowned international label that assesses establishments on various environmental, social, and economic criteria to ensure they meet rigorous sustainability standards. Key areas of certification include energy, water, and waste management, community engagement, biodiversity protection, awareness-raising, and the preservation of architectural and cultural heritage.

For many years, Beau-Rivage Genève has embraced a more responsible approach to hospitality, implementing concrete and measurable actions to reduce its environmental impact.

The completion of our 2020–2025 Environmental Plan marks an important milestone in this journey, providing a clear framework for our commitments and driving meaningful progress. By 2024, Beau-Rivage Genève's contribution to climate protection already exceeded its carbon footprint by a factor of two, while in 2025 our waste recycling rate reached 85%, reflecting a lasting transformation of our practices.

Behind these achievements are the everyday actions that make a difference: reducing, reusing, educating and raising awareness. These initiatives are embedded throughout the hotel and reflect a collective commitment shared by all our teams.

Today, Beau-Rivage Genève is entering a new chapter with its 2025-2030 ESG Plan, expanding this approach to encompass environmental, social and governance priorities. Our ambition is to go even further, increasing our recycling rate to 87% and strengthening our climate strategy with a targeted 25% reduction in emissions, while continuing to invest in the wellbeing and development of our employees and the local community.

As part of this ongoing commitment, Beau-Rivage Genève continues to support guests through the “Cause We Care” initiative, which helps fund meaningful environmental projects, including reforestation programmes in Nicaragua.

Thanks to our daily commitment to the environment, we are proud to be ISO 14001 certified. We have also obtained the "Swisstainable" label from Switzerland Tourism (level leading). The certifications we have are complete and recognized. Confirming the effectiveness of our environmental management system, they cover all dimensions of sustainability and are subject to regular external audits.

With its exceptional history, Beau-Rivage has always looked to the future and is committed to being a leader in sustainable development. Since 2009, we have been fully engaged in social, economic and environmental development.​

​​We are proud to be a partner of myclimate "Cause we care", an initiative for climate protection and sustainable tourism. As part of this initiative, our guests have the opportunity to voluntarily offset the CO2 emissions generated by their stay. At the same time, Beau-Rivage doubles these contributions and invests them in municipal reforestation in Nicaragua and in its own sustainability through its 2025-2030 environmental plan.

Nestled in the natural beauty of Geneva, just a few kilometers from the Beau-Rivage Hotel, we are proud to cultivate our own honey from three beehives located in Satigny. In partnership with the beekeeper Les Miels de Stéphanie, we harvest a premium-quality honey with unique flavors that enrich the gastronomic experience of our guests.

Produced artisanally and with respect for the environment, this honey is served every morning at the hotel’s restaurant during breakfast. It embodies the authenticity and local commitment of our establishment, offering guests a sweet and natural touch that reflects the spirit of our region.

We are proud to promote a local and sustainable product while creating a direct link between our hotel and the richness of Geneva’s terroir. Each jar of honey invites you to taste the excellence of our region and savor moments of sweetness every day.

Since 2018, Beau-Rivage Genève has been using the GeniLac solution for its air conditioning system. GeniLac is the largest ecological thermal network in Geneva, an innovative, 100% renewable solution that uses lake water for cooling. The quantitative benefits are: 80% reduction in CO2 emissions, no more use of greenhouse gas refrigerants, 80% reduction in electricity consumption and 10% reduction in water consumption for the cooling systems.​

ISO 14001 certified for over 15 years, Beau-Rivage Genève is committed to a structured and continuous approach to environmental responsibility.

Waste sorting and recycling are key pillars of this commitment. With a recycling rate of 85% achieved in 2025, the hotel continues to improve its practices and has set a target of 87% by 2030.
